Woman gets 2-year prison sentence in young son's death

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A woman who was prosecuted in the death of her 2-year-old son was sentenced Monday to two years in prison. Ayled Chavez previously pleaded no contest to a felony charge of willful cruelty to a child, and murder and assault charges were dismissed. Chavez’s boyfriend, Kaleb Kessinger, remains charged with murder and assault. The Kern County court website shows a jury trial is scheduled. Path to Full Story on 29 Eyewitness News
