Two people die in single-car crash on Highway 99

A deadly crash near Delano slowed traffic on Highway 99 Tuesday evening. California Highway Patrol reported that a man and a woman were killed Tuesday evening when the car they were in veered across lanes on southbound Highway 99 and hit a tree. CHP Officer Cecil McKinty said a witness told them the car was driving in the No. 1 lane, the fast lane, just south of Woollomes Avenue.
