Taft fire chars home, causes $20,000 in damage

Kern County Firefighters knocked down a blaze Sunday in Taft that left a single-family home charred, officials said.Fire crews arrived to the home at the 500 block of Tyler Street at about 12:10 p.m. and extinguished the flames in less than a half hour.
