Statewide solar panel mandate will impact homebuilders and buyers
The California Building Standards Commission has ordered homebuilders to include solar panels on all new single-family projects starting in 2020. Half of the homes currently being built in Bakersfield already have solar panels in their plans, according to the city's Building Director Phil Burns. Burns said he expects some housing projects will be pushed up - "a huge spike," as he puts it - to avoid the 2020 solar mandate. Path to Full Story on 29 Eyewitness News
