ShotSpotter leads officers to firearm arrest

ShotSpotter helped lead police officers to a firearm arrest in central Bakersfield Sunday morning. Officers were alerted to a possible shooting in the area of 8th and P streets and found a vehicle leaving the area as they arrived. Officers stopped the vehicle and found 26-year-old Rodrigo Lara was on felony probation. Officers searched the vehicle and found a stolen loaded . 40 caliber handgun under the driver's seat and also found cocaine HCL, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.
