
Notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger has died in prison, NBC News and The Boston Globe reported Tuesday. Bulger, 89, had recently been moved from Florida to the high-security penitentiary USP Hazelton in West Virginia. Citing federal officials, NBC said he was found dead at USP Hazelton Tuesday. In a statement, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said the FBI is investigating after Bulger was “found unresponsive” around 8:20 a. m. Tuesday and later pronounced dead.
