Report: Man accused of false active-shooter calls wanted to test police readiness

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The man accused of calling in fake reports of active shooters at Bakersfield hospitals reportedly said he wanted to test the readiness of the Bakersfield Police Department. Mario Thompson faces seven charges in Kern County court, but only one of them – impersonating a police officer – is a felony.
