Remembering George H.W. Bush: Family once called Bakersfield home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Former President George H. W. Bush died Friday at his home in Houston at 94. For a short time, Bush and his family called Bakersfield home. George H. W. Bush came to Bakersfield for work selling oilfield equipment. The family moved into a 965-square-foot home – 2101 Monterey St. in east Bakersfield – on June 14, 1949, according to the George H. W.
