BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A robbery suspect who was shot by a security guard at a Metro PCS store on Chester Avenue has died, Bakersfield police and the Kern County coroner said Monday. Police said two robbers entered the store Aug. 30 and pointed a gun at employees and shoppers. An armed security guard stepped in to stop the robbery and shot one of the suspects.
