Passenger killed in early morning crash on Cottonwood Road

The passenger of a vehicle was killed this morning after the driver of the vehicle crashed into a power pole. The Kern County coroner's office identified the passenger as 22-year-old Jonathan Romo. Deputies said the crash happened around 3:30 a. m. on Cottonwood Road and East Casa Loma Drive. The crash did cause a power outage for people in the area, however the power has since been restored.
