More than 60 children found permanent families on Adoption Day

Dozens of children were adopted during Kern County’s 16th Annual National Adoption Day celebration on Friday. Judge Raymonda Burnham Marquez, the presiding judge at the Juvenile Justice Center, oversaw some 40 adoptions at the Kern County Superior Court, Juvenile Division. Another 21 children were adopted in private adoptions in the Family Law Division. Burnham Marquez said adoptions are done in the Juvenile Justice Center twice a month, but Friday’s adoptions were special. Path to Full Story on 29 Eyewitness News
