McCarthy launches bid to become minority leader after GOP loses House control

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Rep. Kevin McCarthy, of Bakersfield, will vie for House minority leader, according to spokesman Matt Sparks. McCarthy, the current majority leader, saw his hopes of becoming House speaker dashed when Democrats took control during Tuesday’s midterm election. Rep.
