Man who killed fellow corrections officer sentenced to 80-plus years in prison

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A man guilty of murdering a fellow corrections officer who had started dating his estranged wife was sentenced Wednesday morning to more than 80 years in prison. Rigoberto Sanchez was put on trial in the shooting death of 31-year-old Edwin Lima, who also worked at the prison in Tehachapi. Prosecutors said Sanchez and his wife separated in late 2016.
