Kern Valley State Prison correctional officer who was attacked by inmates has died

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – One of two correctional officers attacked months ago at a prison in Delano has died. Officer Armando Gallegos, 56, died Friday at a Hanford hospital, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Monday.
