BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The Kern Regional Crime Laboratory has a new tool for fighting gun violence. The Evofinder Automated Ballistic Identification system went into use locally in July, the lab’s director Tammi Noe said Tuesday. The Evofinder system can image bullets or bullet fragments, as well as casings, and can help crime lab staff find connections to other cases via a searchable database.
