Kern County firefighters on scene of small fire in riverbed
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Firefighters are on scene of a small brush fire near Chester and Beardsley avenues. Kern County Fire Department Engineer Anthony Romero said the fire was reported about 3:30 p. m. Tuesday in the middle of the riverbed. That area along the Kern River is sometimes used by homeless people, but Romero said he didn’t know who or what caused the fire.
