Grapes and almonds top annual Kern crops report

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Grapes and almonds rule in the latest Kern County agriculture report. The county’s Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards released its 2017 crops report Tuesday, showing the gross value of Kern’s farming output was over $7. 2 billion. The gross value was 1 percent higher than the year before, Agricultural Commissioner Glenn Fankhauser reported. Grapes were No. 1 with nearly $1. 75 billion in value.
