Gang-related shootings down in Bakersfield

The Police Department reports a decrease in gang-related shootings in Bakersfield. At the end of August 2016, there were more than 60 gang-related shootings that year. So far in 2018, there have been 31. The Police Department attributes the decrease in crime to the gang unit which has taken an active role in the community.
