Former Kern deputy previously convicted in drug conspiracy arrested in Idaho

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A former Kern County sheriff’s deputy previously convicted in a narcotics conspiracy has been arrested in Idaho so he can be sent back to Kern. Eyewitness News does not know why Derrick Penney is wanted by authorities in Kern County. Both the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office declined comment.
