Firecrews respond to underground electrical vault explosion

Firefighters at Fire Station 1 said they heard a loud explosion shortly before 5 p. m. , and then saw flames bursting out of the area in front of an AT&Tbuilding at 21st and Eye streets. Firefighters said the fire was coming out of an underground electrical vault outside of the building and they were able to extinguish the flames quickly. Two cars were damaged, but people in the building were able to evacuate safely. Path to Full Story on 29 Eyewitness News
