Felony warrant issued for man accused of defrauding an elderly person
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for help locating a man wanted regarding an elder abuse case. BPD alleges that when Matthew Steven Gardner, 43, worked at a local tax company, he used his position to gain the trust of an elderly client and later defrauded that person. There is an active felony warrant for Gardner on the charges of financial crimes, elder abuse and burglary. Gardner is 6-feet tall and weighs about 195 pounds.
