Dead man found in east Kern County; cause of death unknown

A body was found off Bena Road, west of Caliente Bodfish Road Tuesday afternoon, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. KCSO Sgt. David Hubbard said the Kern County Fire Department went to the location shortly after 12:30 p. m. after receiving reports of a possible corpse. After finding a dead man, the KCFD brought in deputies, followed by homicide detectives, Hubbard said. Bena Road was closed due to the investigation. “We’re still really early on.
