Coroner's office: Man hanged himself in downtown jail

A man who died after being found unresponsive in a cell at the downtown jail had hanged himself, according to a coroner’s office news release Tuesday.James Anthony Swann, 39, of Orland, was found unresponsive Feb. 11 and later pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital the same day, the news release said.
