BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The city warned customers Monday of a data breach affecting its Click2Gov online payment system. The city investigated after getting reports of fraudulent activity and discovered someone had infiltrated the online payment system with code that’s designed to steal credit card information. The hacking took place between Aug. 11 and Oct. 1, according to the City Manager’s Office. City staff has since worked with the Click2Gov vendor to remove the unauthorized code.
