Christmas Eve Task Force focused on making children happy

The holiday spirit spread like wildfire today as Bakersfield firefighters, Santa Claus and Sparky the Fire Dog delivering toys to children in hospitals and shelters around Bakersfield. This marks the 32nd year the Bakersfield Fire Department has put on its Christmas Eve Task Force, with toys provided by various nonprofits. “We have so many toys, but we make sure that we disperse them to all the kids throughout the day,” Bakersfield Fire Chief Anthony Galagaza said. “We like to run empty.
