CHP: Driver arrested for deadly crash; man killed initially thought to be driver

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The California Highway Patrol has determined that a different man was behind the wheel during a deadly crash Feb. 11 at China Grade Loop and Manor Street. Damion Hutson faces charges of murder, vehicular manslaughter and possession of a stolen vehicle. A Dodge Challenger was traveling eastbound on China Grade Loop at a “very high rate of speed” when the driver ran a red light at Manor Street and slammed into a pickup, the CHP said.
