Bakersfield school: Thief took bench with plaque that memorialized student

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Munsey Elementary School is asking for the community’s help recovering a stolen bench with a memorial plaque for a student who died. Someone stole the bench from the campus off Belle Terrace and South Real Road. The plaque honors 11-year-old Fatima Lopez, a fifth-grader who was hit by a car in 2017, according to the Bakersfield City School District.
