Bakersfield officials disagree with pedestrian study

Many were shocked when a study came out saying Bakersfield was the seventh deadliest city in the nation for pedestrians. But city officials are now disputing the findings. “In this case when it says Bakersfield, what it really means and referring to is the entire Kern County area. So, the city of Bakersfield’s about 150 square miles, Kern County is 8,000 square miles, so there was just need, a need for some clarification,” Chris Huot, assistant city manager, said.
