Bakersfield girl gets ready to head to US National Figure Skating Championship

While most 13-year-olds are just trying to get through junior high, Bakersfield native Melania Delis has a little bit more on her plate. Next month, Delis will compete with her partner at the US National Figure Skating Championship in Detroit, becoming the first Bakersfield native to ever do so. "We went through regionals, then through sectionals, we placed third there and now we're on to nationals,” Delis said. It's a journey that's been years in the making.
