Bakersfield College breaks ground on Veterans Resource Center

Community leaders gathered at Bakersfield College to break ground on the Vernon Valenzuela Veterans Resource Center Monday morning. Vernon Valenzuela, a veteran of the Vietnam War, attended Bakersfield College in the 1970s, where he became involved in helping other veterans. Former Congressman Bill Thomas was a faculty advisor at BC when Valenzuela was a student and got to know him them, but that was just the beginning of their friendship.
