Attention drivers: Big chunk of the 99 will be closed for Belle Terrace Bridge demo

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Most lanes on a portion of Highway 99 through Bakersfield will be closed over the next couple nights so workers can demolish the Belle Terrace Bridge. The 99 freeway lane closures will be between Highway 58 and Ming Avenue, according to the Thomas Roads Improvement Program. The bridge demolition is part of the Centennial Corridor project, which will connect Hwy. 58 to the Westside Parkway, opening up east-west freeway travel in Bakersfield.
