A mother and her five children escape house fire in Oildale

Kern County Fire Department is investigating  after a fire destroyed a family's home in Oildale. Crews were called out to 200 block of Arvin Street just before 5 a. m. Monday. Firefighters tell us a mother and her five kids lived in the home. Everyone was able to escape to a neighbor's house across the street. Investigators told us the family pet did not make it out in time. The cause is under investigation. Path to Full Story on 29 Eyewitness News
